AbSuRd Journal 3 continued....
I would also like to add to my journal today that I am reading a very absurd book. It is Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass and what Alice Found There. It is a very absurd book. The story of Alice going to Wonderland is very absurd. She meets a Mad Hatter and a March Hair, animals that are made of things like glasses and penicils, she meets chess peices and in Through the looking Glass, she is playing a game of chess to become a queen. She has gone through the mirror in this story and everything is backwards. They are very absurd stories. Like a very absurd part I read about is where they have to run as fast as they an to get nowhere. That was very absurd to me. It was becuase she was in the mirror where everything was backwards so instead of getting somewhere when they run, they get nowhere. Yes, it is a very absurd book indeed.

Ok i hd something very absurd happen last night. I was laying in bed and i started to get a BAD cramp in my lower stomach!!! I could hardly move, but I made my way out to my mom and told her what was happening. Then my sight starting to go black in the corners of my eyes and I told my mom I couldn't see and she made me hurry and sit down and put my head between my legs because I was about to pass out. It was very absurd because I have never had anything like that happen to me.

WeBqUeSt 2 (report on a subject you researched and learned more about)
I looked up a math website and i found Math.com. I think it site is very good. It had practice problems for a bunch of kinds of math. Pre calculous, algebra, geometry, trigonometry and alot more. It had a page where you could talk to someone and get help on your homework or you could research and do some practice problems on that certain subject. I learned that there are all kinds of different calculators and tools that are used in math. I also played some math games on the site. I think they were a fun way to help someone along with math. They are fun and you learn at the same time. I also learned that alot more people than we think use math in their dailey lives. We use it for alot more than just balancing our checkbooks! You can use math to shop, going on a trip, having a party, you will nedd it for almost everything!!!! I learned alot about Math. The two sites I used are Math.com and http://mathforum.org/dr.math/faq/faq.why.math.html. I think these are acurate sites because the first one is all about math and they ave everything for math. Games, tutoring, math tools, and alot more that will be beneficial to someone who needs help in the math area. The second sie was talking about why we need math and it's accurate because it's true!! We will use math alot in our lives even though we don't always realize it.

What is absurd?
Is absurd a bird?
Is it even a word?
I am very concerened,
with the concept of absurd.
Is it something funny?
Does it have to do with money?
Is absurd a bunny?
No That would be adsurd,
If absurd were a bird.
It would be adsurd,
If it was even a word.
I am still so concered.
Wouldn't it be adsurd,
if absurd were funny?
Would it not be absurd,
If absurd delt with money?
I Am very concerned,
for poor old absurd.

Changing the Nation; Part 2
Some ways that I will change the nation right now are by making sure i shut off anything that used energy when i'm done such as my lights, the computer, TV, and more. I will pick up any trash i see lying out on the street instead of just walking past it. I will encourage my family anf friends to stay healthy and active. I can't make the whole world fit, but my friends and family are the best place to start. :) I will grow and take care of plants and trees because they provide like for me and everyone else.
In the future, I would like to become a fashion designer and I want to help advertise Going Green! I will also do this in my own home. I will be energy efficient, have alot of plants and trees around, and I can help others Go Green through my clothing. T-shirts, jewelry, pajamas and more will help. I would also like to be 100% organic in my work. Everything i make or use will be organic. This is how i will help the nation.

Reading Journal; Alice in Wonderland.
Alice has fallen down the rabbit hole and is very confused. she can't figure out why she is eating and drinking things that make her larger or smaller. She meets friends like a rat and a bunch of birds whom she accidentally offends by saying her cat would love to eat them. Alice has just met a caterpillar who wants to know who she is, but she has no idea how to explian herself, because she feels she has changed to much to be herself anymore.
Changing the Nation; Part 1
A person I think is making the nation better is our old mayor Joey Thaut. I've lived across the street from her for about four years now. I didn't think very much of her at first, because she was just kind of grumpy and was always locked inside her house with her dog and cat. She loved them more than anything and it really showed.
Just recently, Joey was not elected for mayor and also got fired from her job. Me and my family watched as everyone turned against her, because she was not a huge cause for money anymore. Joey decided to join the Red Cross and move to Ethiopia. She left her dog and cat in California with family. We all know that Ethiopia is a poor country. I know she has little food, little shelter, and little of everything else. This has a huge impact on the nation because this is someone who cares and is putting herself through this for others. She also gave her house away to my aunt. My aunt did not have to buy the house, Joey simply handed it to her, and said "It's yours if you would like it." All my aunt has to do is pay rent. Joey gave up all her belongings to my aunt too. Joey also mentioned that my aunt may buy the house whenever she is ready. In my eyes, Joey is a leader and a hero.

DidgetBy:Heidi ThompsonJacquee GiovoMicaela CostanzoIt was a normal day for Didget while he walked to school. Most of the teenagers by now had their own cars. Didget didn’t have anything but his walking shoes. Bits of trash were always thrown at him while he walked along the sidewalk. He looked up half heartedly and noticed Bridget and Alana walking ahead of him. This was rather odd considering they never walked to school. Didget began to quicken his pace just to see how close he could get to Bridget. He had always had a crush on Bridget from the start, never quite enjoyed Alana though. Bridget reminded him of one of those olden day movie stars. She was perfect in every way. Her hair was just the right shade of blonde, and the only thing sweeter than her was powdered sugar. Alana was a completely different story. She was beautiful but the only thing that spoiled it was her attitude towards everyone. She loved herself more than anyone else and the only thing that really mattered to her was her popularity, and Bridget. Didget had to admit though she looked like she popped right out of a magazine. He bowed his head when he realized he wouldn’t be able to catch up. Girls walked surprisingly fast in high heels. He could hear Bridget’s joyful laughter up ahead and for the rest of the walk he imagined her smiling at him.Hi High School was a pretty nice looking school considering it was public. The only thing that made Didget’s school horrible was the fact that it was divided. It was divided into cliques. Bridget and Alana belonged to the highest one when it came to popularity. Next came of course the regular acting people, then the nerds, then the class pets, then the bugs stuck to your windshield, then there came Didget. If you hadn’t already noticed he wasn’t exactly the most liked person at his high school. That’s what made liking Bridget so difficult. She was normal… In fact she was above normal, she was perfect. Didget was odd looking, he never had any friends, and his teachers had completely given up on him. They claimed he was crazy so they just pass him to get him out of the way, even if he’s failing. That’s how low he was on the food chain.Didget walked through the front doors and immediately was shoved into lockers and pushed out of the way. He should have gone through the back doors instead of the front. When you walk into the high school you walk right into the danger zone. At least that’s the way it was for Didget. His locker was the very last one in the back of the school right next to the exit.Didget looked over his shoulder and saw Bridget and Alana parked right in front of their lockers. They were surrounded by the entire football team. Those jocks were probably the people Bridget wanted to go out with. Didget knew that but it never hurt to use his imagination.Alana suddenly looked up and noticed Didget was still lingering in their hall way.“WHAT’S HE STILL DOING HERE?!” Alana shouted over all of the noise. Instantly the hall was quiet and everyone was staring down at the short, scrawny form of Didget.“I was just standing here minding my own business…” Didget mumbled. Of course he knew that the second the words had come out of his mouth he was in deep trouble.Alana stomped her way over to him.“Just slap yourself, you don’t belong here in the real world.” Alana scolded. Didget went red with embarrassment. He looked up to defend himself and saw a slender hand on Alana’s shoulder. Beside her, Bridget was speaking in a whisper and frowning. He wondered what she had said that made Alana stop. Alana rolled her eyes and turned to walk away.“Sorry about my friend here, she’s just having a bad day.” Bridget whispered quickly. Didget just looked at her not knowing how to react. She was actually talking to him… Before he could think of anything to say she turned and glided back to her locker. Didget sighed and moved on down the hallway to his banged up locker on the other side. His finger barely touched his lock when the bell rang, announcing it was time for class. The day went on like it always did for him. His teachers ignored him as well as all his classmates. The only thing different about his day was the fact that Bridget kept glancing at him with curious eyes. It was almost like she had never quite noticed him before.Lunch came faster than Didget thought. It was probably the worst part of the day for him and the best part of the day for everyone else. He sat alone at his own little table away from everyone else. Normally Bridget would sit at her regular table with Alana, but today she turned abruptly towards Didget’s table. Alana stared in shock as her best friend took a seat next to the weirdest boy in school.“Is it alright if I sit here today?” Bridget asked politely. It was sort of an odd question to ask since she had already sat down and began eating her lunch.Didget smiled and said, “Is that a fat joke?” He couldn’t believe Bridget would even want to sit ten feet away from him let alone ten inches. Bridget raised her eyebrow and laughed a little even though it wasn’t funny. None of Didget’s jokes were very funny, except to him of course.“I noticed you aren’t in any of my classes.” Bridget said with a sweet smile.Didget stared at his carrots and said, “Actually I’m in your last hour class. I sit in the back.” Bridget nodded and they sat there for awhile just talking about things that didn’t exactly matter. It felt like the first day of kindergarten for both of them. Neither of them knew each other but it didn’t seem to matter.Mean while, Alana wasn’t touching her lunch. All she could do was look at Bridget talking to that outcast. She had to do something about this before it was too late. She stood and walked over to them.“Bridget what on earth are you doing?” Alana asked. She looked Didget up, then down, then up again. His clothes didn’t even match what was she thinking?“I’m eating actually, want some?” Bridget laughed. She raised her spoon full of applesauce towards Alana’s mouth.“No thank you…” Alana muttered. Didget looked at her and analyzed what she was wearing just like she had done to him. There was nothing negative about Alana, except the attitude of course. She would never be able to be ‘Bridget perfect’ though.“You can sit down if you want.” Didget managed to stutter. Alana’s face showed it all. She was absolutely disgusted with him.The bell rang and lunch ended even though Didget and Bridget weren’t ready to leave. For the rest of the week they ate lunch together and talked about anything that came to mind. Bridget talked the most, probably because she had a bigger mind. Didget just sat and listened. That was ok though, he liked the sound of her voice. The more they talked the more Alana tried to sabotage them. She would interrupt their conversations, push Didget away, and tell Bridget she was losing her marbles. Nothing seemed to work. It didn’t matter what she did, they spent more and more time together. Secretly they were both feeling the same things. Didget and Bridget liked each other, and there was nothing Alana or any of her friends could do about it.Before they knew it Bridget and Didget spent every second of the day together. Bridget still talked to her old friends when they actually wanted to have something to do with her. Alana was convinced that once you start dating a freak you become a freak. Bridget wasn’t bothered by it at all. A true friend would understand, and Alana was obviously only concerned about herself. One day Bridget tried to talk to her friends again but they pretended she didn’t exist. She walked back to Didget and he looked up at her feeling very guilty.“I’m sorry I ruined your friendship with all of those people.” He sighed. Bridget then did something so strange but so wonderful that it nearly gave Didget a heart attack.“Aw… That’s ok.” She said as she bent over and kissed his abnormally pointed nose. The spot she had kissed tingled a little. He realized that he could now see her smiling at him. He had wanted her to smile at him like that for so long, and now it was had happened.Even though Alana wasn't friends with Bridget anymore she still occasionally attempted to ruin their relationship. She still cared about Bridget's former reputation. She would start rumors about Didget doing horrible things. For example, she tried to convince their science teacher that Didget was stealing H2O out of the storage closet. Alana wasn't very smart for her age... They were all hoping she would grow up. Unfortunately the only reaction she got from Bridget and Didget was their laughter. They even laughed in harmony, and it annoyed her. How could two different people from two different worlds have so much in common? It didn't make any sense to her.One day after school Didget offered to walk Bridget home. Bridget giggled and told him she would just drive HIM home since she had a car. They talked for awhile about school and how everyone was acting so weird."I feel like this is my fault." Didget said.Bridget, hands clutching the steering wheel looked at him and said, "Well I don't see what the big deal is. If we like eachother why should they want to get in the way?""Have you looked at me lately?" Didget raised his bushy eyebrows and she roared with laughter."Looks have never mattered to me and will never matter to me. I like personality." Bridget said."Well personally I think you should have stayed with your friends." He whispered."No. My old friends only care about how they look on the outside. You care about different things." She replied. And so the outcast and the beauty lived happily ever after... Alana lived alone.

Friday the 13: MISSING
I had always been extremely jealous of Aubrey Taylor. She was everything that I was not in ways that made me look at her and wish we could trade lives. She was gorgeous of course, with her pin straight blonde hair and powder blue eyes. Her figure was the main attraction for every guy in school, and almost all of the guys would die to call her his. Literally… DIE. She was head cheerleader and every teacher loved her more than every other student. (Although they would never admit it of course.) She was beautiful and intelligent… yea, EVERYTHING I was not.
On Friday, February thirteenth I pushed through the school hallways and began my normal routine.
“Katie!” A high voice called from behind me. I turned quickly to see who had called my name. I must have been dreaming. Aubrey Taylor would NEVER talk to me.
“Uh…yea?” I stuttered unable to think. I was half angry because here she stood so beautiful, and half stunned because well, here she stood talking to me.
“Do you think I could keep my bag in your locker for now? Megan’s not at school today and I really don’t want to use Rachel’s because she’s a disgusting pig, and Jenn has the flu and I defiantly don’t want to catch it and my locker is full of all my cheerleading stuff. So would that be a problem?” How did she find the breath to say that all in one sentence the way she did?
“Uh...Yea sure no problem. You can just follow me to my locker.” I turned and began walking self consciously while she followed. Stupid thoughts ran through my head. What if my jeans aren’t a brand she likes? What if my hair doesn’t look good enough for her? What if she didn’t like the color of my nail polish? Very stupid thoughts. We reached my locker and stuffed her bag and mine inside of it.
“Thanks. I’ll be back for it after school.” She gave me a smile that almost blew me away and I smiled back like an idiot.
The day flew by as I sat stupidly fidgeting with my fingers through every class. I left the classroom only once during second hour to use the restroom. I have no memory of my bathroom break surprisingly. The final bell rang for sixth hour class and the class began bustling out the door. I walked out slowly, checking my bag to make sure I had my book for last hour.
“Katie!” My best friend Angie ran breathlessly up to me. “Did you hear what happened?” She had a look of horror and excitement on her face.
“No. What is it?” I have to admit I was excited even though I thought gossiping was a waste of time for young girls.
“Aubrey Taylor is missing. She asked to go the restroom in second hour and she never came back and nobody has seen her since.”
“That’s real funny ang.” I smiled sarcastically at her and rolled my eyes.
“I’m not kidding Katie. Aubrey is gone”
“ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS, DO NOT REPORT TO YOUR LAST HOUR CLASS. REPORT STRAIGHT TO THE GYMNASIUM. STRAIGHT TO THE GYMNASIUM,” A loud voice boomed over the intercom. Suddenly I knew Angie was not joking.
The gym was packed with very confused students. Everyone was asking what was going on and wiggling in their seats.
“Quite down everybody.” The principal called out. Everyone was quite in an instant and very intent.
“We have a missing student and I do not want any one freaking out when we discuss this. Are we clear?” Nobody answered. The principal took a deep breathe and continued.
“Who was the last person to see Aubrey Taylor?” Suddenly people were shouting and fear spread through the room. The knot in my stomach was so tight I thought I was going to be sick.
“Please guys please! Quiet down. We are doing our best to find her. The police have been called and her parents have been notified. There are a couple police officers looking through the lockers to see if they can find any evidence. Mr. Yung is with them to identify anything of hers they may not recognize.
Aubrey’s bag is in my locker!! I felt heaves rushing from my stomach up my throat. My forehead broke into a cold sweat and I sank down in my seat praying to god I didn’t get sick. Just then Mr. Yung walked in carrying Aubrey’s bag. I closed my eyes and took deep breathes to keep from passing out. When I opened my eyes, Mr. Yung was pointing at me.
I felt myself being yanked up by a very strong pair of hands. A husky looking police officer had a hold of me. He twisted my hands behind my back and put handcuffs on me.
“WHAT? You can’t take me away! You haven’t even heard my side of the story!” I began screaming and trying to twist free. I looked like an idiot. I watched from somewhere up high as they took me away. Wait, how could I see myself being carried away? Was that me or is this me? What’s going on? Everything around me became a blur and I was alone in the darkness.
“Katie?” Someone was calling my name… “Katie? It’s time to get ready.” I know that voice… “It’s time for school honey.” I opened my eyes slowly and my room slowly came into focus. I sat up in a daze and confused.
“You were sleeping hard Kate. I was almost afraid to wake you up. I didn’t want to ruin your dreams” My mom kissed my forehead and walked out of the room. It was just a dream. But it was so real…
I got ready for school not really concentrating on getting ready but on my dream. Could that have been one of those dreams that predict the future? No, but it was so realistic… I was confused and tried to concentrate on my bowl of frosted flakes. If there were any chances that would have worked I would have been very pleased, but the subject decided to stay on my mind.
At school I shoved through the doorway and started making my way down the hallway.
“Katie!” I turned without thinking. No, not even possible. This was a sick joke.
“Would it be alright if I kept my bag in your locker? Megan’s not at school today and I really don’t want to use Rachel’s because she’s a disgusting pig, and Jenn has the flu and I defiantly don’t want to catch it and my locker is full of all my cheerleading stuff. I pulled out my phone and looked at the date. Friday Feb. 13.
“No I don’t think that would be such a good idea Aubrey.” I swallowed as the look on her face turned cold.
“Whatever then Katie. Gosh you are such a freak. Megan was right about you.” She flipped her long blonde hair and stomped away.
I’d rather be a freak then go missing Aubrey Taylor. I’ll see you in the bathroom in second hour…

response to mini-bio.
Hey!!! My name is Heidi Thompson. I am fourteen years old and i was born on July 24, 1994. I live in a tiny town called West Wendover NV. I like being here sometimes... but I have to admit that I am a city girl. I live at home with my mom, my dad and my younger brother. We all get along really well and are a strong family. I also have two dogs named Tank and Dozer. I have a best friend named Bailey Rarick. We do EVERYTHING together. She is awsome :). I enjoy wrinting music and designing clothes. I also enjoy organizing events. If my music and fashion designing does not work out for me in the future, I want to be a wedding planner. I also enjoy traveling and taking pictures. Some of my favorite poeple are my aunt Staci, my best friend Bailey, and My three family members at home. Some things that I really don't like are getting IV's and I really really don't like rollar coasters :(. I also don't like partying. I like hanging out with just a couple of my good friends. That's what makes me happy. I love to laughing! Everytime you see me i will either be smiling or laughing. I also enjoy playing the Wii!!! It is so fun! I hope you enjoyed learning about me :).
